Ongar Station 2005

The outside of Ongar station has changed very little since i visted in 2004 and never thought i would become a member of staff at that time.

The station has been cleaned up more, it now has flowers, more 'blue' paint and a genral tidy up.

The station seems to be going from strength to strength.

Ongar Platform Looking East 2005

As you can see the DMU getting ready for it's short Sunday service. A point to add that EOR parks the DMU alot closer to the entrance than LU.

The station is now always busy and has alot more staff than it did back before it closed in 1994.

Looking at the destination board on the DMU it reads Coopersale. This is the temporary stop for EOR at the moment but there are plans to extend the service to Epping (Glade) just short by 800 metres off the original stop.

But sadly this will only be a viewing stop, as EOR cannot alow passengers off the train as there is no platform is place.

Here we are again on the Ongar platform but this time looking west to Epping.

We can see now the entrance to the platform.

Epping Station Roundal 2005

Epping Station Roundal 2005

This picture of a Epping roundal was taken on the platform the Ongar branch mainly used.

The Ongar signs would have been to this shape/design of the roundal.

Epping station 2005 'Ongar Branch Platform'

Epping station with train on the mainly used 'Ongar branch platform' 2005

The train you can see in the picture is on platform one. Ongar trains would have pulled n here waiting for it's passengers to board.

Many can see that the line doesn't stop here. But now warning lights have been put in place on the track not permiting the train any further.
