In 1980/81 LU tried to close the line again but failed as another outrage by locals came about.
Sadly on the 31st October 1981 Blake Hall station was closed. due to really only having up to six passengers a day.
In 1982 the line was reduced to peak hours only and was becoming less and less used by the public.
Then on the 30th of September 1994 the line closed.
It was sucessful as the public really abandoned it as the fares were high and it was only ever peak hours only making it used for certain hours of the day.
Many think LU Put the peak hours in and put the fares up to stop people using and making it possible for them to close the line!
Then in 1996 the Epping signal cabin closed.
Two years later in 1998 LU sold the line to EOR Ltd (Pilot developments)
Then on Sunday 10th October the line re-opened.
